Heavy Metal Wednesday

Traditionally, I've always had the ash applied with a thumb or index finger, in the shape of a cross (kinda). Usually towards the end of the procession the priest acquires a lazy thumb, and you end up with a Rorschach Blotch.

This year my parish used a stamp to apply the ash. I think it looks more like an iron cross than a Christian one.
Does this mean forty days of head banging til Easter?

I thought you gave up metal for Lent? :^)

Or on the other side, wouldn't 40 days of head banging be kinda normal for you? :^)

*lol* My brain read it as a biohazard sign.

Wish they HAD used this at our church! Poor Father nearly hurt himself trying to manage the girls and me, and we were just the morning rush....

Seems kind of impersonal to me.
