But It's For A Good Cause

I remember when the mantra was about personal private life and nobody else's business.
Not any more.
In order to make sure gays and lesbians are adequately represented on the judicial bench, the state of California is requiring all judges and justices to reveal their sexual orientation.
California just gets sillier and sillier.

OK, you can't ask a justice his opinion outside of a court case when he issues his opinion, but you can order a justice to give his lifestyle and hence some of his likely opinions on this?

I'm thinking an enterprising judge or two is going to slap this idea all the way across the Pacific.

I thought the private life mantra was shown to be bunk when they started "outing" those with whom they have political differences?

Ugh, give it about five years and Seattle will start with it....
