OK, I got it like 6 hours later.
See, the racial stereotypes thing doesn't always work in both directions because historical power asymmetries matter. Or something. Also, I know lots of black guys that like (real) beer. Most of them, actually.

nearly every black i know drinks malt liquor (and smokes menthols.)
