Lifestyle Choices

I've been going through this process for a time, nearing on a couple of years already. I'm thinking that now is the moment for me to grow. To open my arms and expand the heart and the mind, to find the will to make it happen...

I know that I want to. I've wanted to for some time but have been hesitant.
Bringing someone new into my life doesn't have to be the diminishing of another's memory. That much is easy to grasp.
Instead, my thoughts rest more with the reality that the new family member won't be like the dearly departed, which is to be expected as individuals do behave individually, and if I can accept that reality in practice as well as in thought.

The Wife, in her goodness, has been supportive of my decision, whatever the decision will be.

I'm thinking that I've already made it, but I'll sit on this for a few more days, just to be sure, while my angel keeps whispering in my ear.

I hope your mind settles correctly.

Reality stings from time to time because, hey, that's reality. Reality also brings new joys. Comparisons are inevitable which is where the sting comes in. Then the individual does something so uniquely them, that brings you the joy. The joy is what eases the sting. But I think you know all that.

My best to you whatever you decide.

Good for you, Gino. A cat ought to live with someone who loves it. And you will.

Man you know how to write a cryptic post when you want to.

I can't possibly be the only one who thought you've decided to come out of the closet.

Can I??

I figured it couldn't be a romantic relationship (his lady may be a saint, but--!!!!), and it seemed a bit overblown even for humor's sake for a what, so that left a who of some form. His wife not having a view on it made me figure either a pet or a volunteer action sort of thing.

Oh, I forgot the other option! New beer choice!

The pain of losing a brewery can be tough to overcome.

Were ya hopin', RW? :^)

(seriously,Sailorette nails why it wasn't that or a new gal in his life...)

Agreed with Brian, and when you adopt those kitties, ya gotta post pictures, Gino.

I still think he's getting a sex-change operation. The cats are his cover.

By the way, "Gina" would be one ugly piece of work from what I've seen of Gino.

ya'll are killing me...

Like in a good way?

I should note my apologies by the way, as I have never had a pet, so I don't have the slightest idea what it would be like to be in your position. Perhaps I am misreading the situation!

Thought this may go over better than my original response:

(and they say men don't like commitment ... *I* think it just means so much they are careful of it ;). )
