For all you fans who are crowding below the podium of the politician you took time from your jobs, families, and lives to get elected:
He's getting a cushy job, massive perks and benefits, free travel, 'junkets', inside stock tips and dibs on IPO's, health care that surpasses that of a combat mangled G.I., business connections, a ceremonial staff position for his wife that pays six-figures, a pension and a quality of life that you could never dream of...
You worked hard. What did YOU get?

I would say that we as voters get to let someone else do the shitty government work.
Although I do think that all government employees should have the same level of health care, and that it should be Excellent.

Hey, I'm a big fan of making it so all reps of a state in DC share an office-- a single big room office-- and a pool of support staff.
Preferably, they spend more time at home than in DC.
And their pay is capped at military NCO rate-- we'll issue them black suits, white shirts, shiny shoes and blue ties every two years, maybe even mid-range officer BAH, but that's it.
Pretty much four more years of the same bullshit it's been for the past 30 or so, except I didn't stand by anybody's podium and pretty much knew the folks I voted for were assholes anyway. Why?
We get to comply with the laws that Congress can ignore because they've voted themselves an exemption to the law.
And the crazy thing is that many members of Congress, even with their inside stock tips and favorable mortgages from Countrywide, STILl can't accumulate any savings.
this was directed at a poltician's fan club members.
i guess i should have made it clearer.
What we got are a number of promises. Now we'll see how good they are at fulfillment.
