Brain Dead

Just don't know what to write about, and unmotivated to dream something up.

Throw me a clue. Anything but politics.
You ask the question and I'll offer up my best answer.

Are women funny?

Tully! Bad!

That is totally provocative, and therefore, political!

(I'm just teasing you.)

But dude, Hitchens is kind of an ass.

BTW, of course *I* think women are funny. We don't have vaginas where our funny bones should be, or anything. I also don't think we have special gender-identified humor.

Geez, I was getting ready to ask Gino something like, "Have you always lived in California? Would you ever want to live anywhere else in the world?" something nice and tame...

As Japbot says, it's easier for women to get than to keep a sense of humour.

Any stories you could tell about neighbors or home-ownership?

Just finished Hitchens' memoir a couple of weeks ago. One thing he talked about is that the terms of his $weet deal with Vanity Fair are that the editors can make him write about anything they want.

He mentioned that piece in the same sentence as the one where he was waterboarded.

OK, topics...

Korean tacos: passing American fad like tapas, or here to stay like pizza?

Will Fox ever produce another animated series that doesn't suck donkey balls?

Audrey Tautou or Marion Cotillard?

Hi Gino,

We will be in Chicago next week for a couple of days. Do you have any suggestions for a great place to eat or spot to visit?

Do you think cats are better than dogs?

I'm not Gino, and I know there are other commenters here that know the place much better than I do, but some of the best meals of my life I've had in Chicago...

If you want to spend some money and you really like pork, The Publican is not to be missed.

On the more down-to-earth side (price wise) I really enjoyed Hot Doug's and Urban Belly. The Gage is one of the best gastropubs I've ever been to, and it would give the best of Seattle and Portland a run for its money.

But seriously, I could probably spend a year eating my way through Chicago. Love that town.

Brian: Duly noted, but it no longer matters how he felt about the piece. His arguments were not so much his own to begin with, but moreover, my reaction to the piece has little to do with the original text, as I've reflected on it intermittently for a couple of years.

and palmboy: the answer is 'yes,but...' and i'll cover it all.
