Audrey Tautou or Marion Cotillard?

Audry Tautou: French actress. Best known in this country for her portrayal of the title role in 2001's Amelie. A good movie that I've since forgotten.

VS

Marion Cotillard: Another French actress. Known most recently for her role as Dillinger's babe in Public Enemies. A good movie that I still remember.

It's a no brainer. Marion got stuff, ya know? Stuff like those breastages that fill her dress and provide gawk material for the rest of us.
Unless you're into the NAMBLA action, Audry just can't compete.

And speaking of French, neither can hold a candle to this one.

As actors, I love both of them; they both have quality work. "Amelie" is one of my ALL TIME favorite movies, ever. Ever! I listen to the soundtrack in the car all the time; it's perfect "driving through the hilly forest" music.

Also, they were both in "A Very Long Engagement," which was directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet (who directed "Amelie"). It was one of my favorite films of 2005 (released at the end of '04). I read the book on which the film is based, and it's equally excellent. AVLE is not the same as "Amelie," however, the structure of the novel greatly influenced Jeunet's directorial method! Fun fact.

Oooh, and speaking of Marion Cotillard, she also stars in "Inception." Have you seen that yet?

Marty and I went to see it a couple weeks ago, and I loved it. I hate it when people rave so much about a film that your expectations are too high, though, so I will just say, to anyone who hasn't seen it, but is thinking about it: It's not a perfect film, but it is very good. Compared to a lot of stuff that has come out this summer it's one of the better ones.

I mean, you like who you like, and skinny to the point of visible bones isn't my thing either, but I think that might be the least flattering picture of Ms. Tautou on the internet. Just sayin'.

I think Cotillard has certainly done more movies I like. (And seriously, get your ass out to see Inception--it's the best thing I've seen in a long time.) But truthfully, I'd pay to have either one of them read the phone book to me.

Marion Cotillard nails her character in Nine. Every look is worth a rewind and rewatch. She's fantastic. And, yeah, she's hot too. Plus, SHE CAN SING. She can act and sing AT THE SAME TIME. Brilliant.
