OK, a few emails later, and I am facing a moral issue.
I have no problem c/p my own correspondence to 'him', but what about his to me?
Is it cool for me to quote his emails to me, if I leave out his identity?
This is important stuff, totally relevant to the story I'm telling.
Help me out.
It's ramping up...

For legal reasons, I suggest just paraphrasing...
Vanessa has a good point point; read the union contract and see what it says. If it comes to court action, then the kid gloves come off and everything can be revealed.
Or, put differently, if you get threats, you put them in the hands of the police, not the blog.
yeah, i'll keep it low. no threats yet, but things are progressing.
I'd paraphrase. Verbatim quotes could be an issue.
Agree with rest for what it is worth

I believe you're legally covered, because the letter was sent to you...but it gives something for people to throw at you, so I'd avoid direct quotes.
If/when it gets REALLY big and you want to go big time, THEN you publish the whole text type quote.
Plenty of good advice already. The general rule that I TRY (sometimes unsuccessfully) to live by is that you can always say/write something later, but you can never un-say or (especially) un-write anything.
