Damn Philistines! Jumping the shark is what the Fonze did in season five. You can use it as a subject, but when said subject is being acknowledged as an idiom, you bracket the idiom with inverted commas. This is grade school shit!

While the warning will undoubtedly get annoying after some time, for now I'm just appreciating how much more badass Gino's blog just got.

Regarding PDS/jumping the shark, people were polarized about this long before she started stumping for McCain. Not a jumping the shark moment IMO.
Incidentally, Happy Days went on for five more seasons after the shark-jumping episode, didn't it? Absurd as the episode was, and as much as it may have seemed the end of the artistic merit of certain members of the writing staff, this fact might well suggest that Sarah Palin is here to stay. There are plenty of Americans whose default station is Fox News, and the way her programming mainly seems to center on these stories of "Real Americans" (allowing her to do what she does best: stroke common-folks' egos instead of engaging people in debate) she can probably milk her Fox gig for a couple of years, if she wants.
And God-willing, while doing so she doesn't bring Scott Baio into the picture. I'm sure she could make a woman of her age warm and fuzzy down there, but he just doesn't have within him the life to breath into another TV show. I suspect he'd be more welcome on MSNBC.
