The Obama administration is considering several steps that would review the legality of the controversial Bowl Championship Series, the Justice Department said in a letter Friday to a senator who had asked for an antitrust review
My first instinct says this is not something we really need the federal government getting involved in. It's just not their place, ya know?
But then I got to thinking... (I occasionally do that)... with only twenty-fours hours in a day, time spent messing with the BCS is time not spent doing something else that might be their business that they would likely fuck up anyway.
So... all I can say is that I don't know enough about that BCS system to have an informed opinion as to whether there is some federal level of injustice going on or not, but still I say "Have at it guys. Take all the time you want."

It's low-hanging fruit for a group that needs a "win". The BCS is about the only thing the ruling party can't make worse if they tried.
I agree, Gino. They should really drop everything else they are doing and schedule long congresssional hearings on the matter. I'd suggest spending one day-long congressional hearing for each member of the Boise State football team.
And after they've done that, they can deal with it as Crankbait suggests. Although I could envision that after they are done, the footballs would need to be made exclusively from hemp products and that the game would be summarily ended in the 3rd quarter when both teams are arrested for possession of marijuana because the DEA was not informed of the rule changes.
And it would all be worth it, just because I'd love to see a Joe Paterno mug shot.
mark: maybe a year ago, the DEA would have done such a thing, but the new administration is more reasonable in relation to hemp products.
and thank God for that.
Well, at least Mr. Obama is doing what he can to restore the old division between the Stupid Party and the Evil Party. It had gotten rather muddled for a while there...
Nah, Obama should see if congress can retroactively impeach Dubya.
thats actually good idea. and it would nullify everything he did for 8yrs, and that would be a good start.
no war.
no bailouts...
yeah, do it.
