I think when you make hundreds of millions selling yourself to the public as an upright, family-centered kinda man you deserve the media harassment that follows after it is made public that you are really just another egotistical jackass cheating on his family with a string of sluts, whores and porn stars.
Privacy? Forget it, dude. You blew that.
But what really annoys me in all of this most annoying of tabloid news stories are the constant references to the world's most recognisable adulterer as The World's Most Marketable Athlete.
Athlete? You kidding me?
Athletes run around and jump a lot, and compete by running and jumping against other people who run around and jump a lot.
Brian Urlacher is an athlete. So are Devin Hester, Kyle Orton, and even Jay Cutler, who's been doing a lot of running lately.
Tiger Woods is a golfer. He walks around with a stick, knocking balls into pre-cut holes on a green surface.
Kinda like billiards, but with fresh air.
Nobody would say Minnesota Fats was an athlete.
And I won't say Tiger Woods is either.

Golf is a sport. You do compete. It's difficult as hell to play well, too. And while there are a few fat dudes who do pretty well at it, most golfers are in excellent physical shape.
I don't know -- what do you call golfers, then? Sportsmen?
What I hate about the media harassment, is that I, and many, many people - DO NOT CARE. I wish the media was working harder at bringing to light issues of actual importance.
mark: how bout 'golfers'. we dont call Richard Petty one our nation's best athletes, do we? no. he's a NASCAR driver. but you gotta be fit to do that, too.
amanda: it is important. that is another post in a day or two.
Gino, I'm with Amanda on the reporting issue. Can I guess at what the next post will be? My view is that all the coverage is essentially a planned distraction.
squeaky
I'd say he's an athlete... (set up)
After all, he does a lot of running around! (punchline)
I guess I just admire the skill and dedication it takes to be a world-class golfer, NASCAR driver or anything else. I can play golf and I can drive a car, but I can't do what either Tiger or Richard Petty can do.
Now wait a minute; "sports" refers, properly, to hunting, fishing, and combat sports. "Athletics" refers properly to track and field. So Tiger/Cheetah is a "gamesman", not an athlete or a sporting figure.
Very good at playing that game, to be sure, but he's no athlete or sportsman, technically speaking. Just like Urlacher.
Among other similarities they seem to have.....
Maybe the appropriate comparison is between golf and competitive weightlifting. Neither involve running or jumping, but both involve doing some rather extraordinary things with your body while otherwise stationary. How fast does that driver come around? 80 mph? 100?
As to the other stuff...yeah I don't really care. High-status males have always and will always have an unlimited supply of attractive and willing females. I'd like to think I'm faithful because I made a commitment and because it's the right thing to do, but the truth is that I have no idea how I would react to the level of temptation that guys like Tiger Woods are presented with, routinely.
Not that I feel sorry for him, mind you.
ROTFLMAO
Good one tully!!!!!!
Ha ha ha ha ha ha
In my view Tiger is an athlete as is Jimmy Johnson as is Carl Lewis as is Phelps...
Bubba: but, urlacher competes in his game using athletics: running, jumping, etc.
that makes him an athlete.
btw: i include swimming as athletics, also.
Okay, K-Rod's not a bad person- anyone who laughs at my jokes can't be bad...
Sometimes those quick one-liners are the best, tully.
But don't be tellin' a lot of people that I'm not such a bad man. ;^)
